Natalia Fidyka is a Registered Psychologist and counsellor, workshop facilitator, artist and writer.
Natalia has a warm and non-judgmental approach, and nurtures a safe environment for clients to explore their difficulties. She believes that the relationship and connection between therapist and client is one of the most healing components of the therapeutic process.
In a session with Natalia you can expect to discover the interconnected nature of your mind, body and spirit. She understands that each individual has the wisdom and resources they need for their own happiness, and supportive therapy is the map to help you find it.
Natalia specialises in the following areas:
Natalia has a person centred approach and is committed to sourcing current and leading therapeutic approaches to tailor a therapeutic plan that best supports your personal needs. This includes Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Therapy.
A common thread through all these approaches is the development of self-awareness. By increasing self-awareness, individuals are able to identify beliefs, behaviours and thinking styles that are self-limiting. In fuller awareness of personal patterns, individuals can begin to make choices that are more self-supportive and aligned with their goals and vital living.
Natalia regularly facilitates 5 week Mindfulness programs for Adults, and a Mindfulness Day workshop. These workshops bring together the latest research underpinning psychological wellbeing, meditation practice and a good dose of humour.
Natalia was consulted and interviewed for the documentary 'Ray of Light', which is dedicated to raising awareness and support for adolescent mental health and suicide prevention in Australia. Natalia also writes for NOVA magazine.
Natalia has developed the 'Get to Grips with the Teenage Mind' workshop, where she explores the myths associated with 'moody' teenagers. Drawing on research from US Psychiatrist Daniel Siegel, Natalia shares the latest neuropsychological discoveries about the teen brain, and shares simple solutions in an easy to understand and fun presentation.
Natalia is also an artist and photographer, and enjoys supporting other creatives through the hurdles associated with artistic expression. The creative process is also a powerful metaphor for dealing with life challenges. Natalia also facilitates 'Paint your own affirmation Deck' and 'Paint your own affirmation Canvas' workshops for women. Combining the creative process, with positive psychology and the power of group work, women leave inspired with their own colourful intention tools.
