Accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner
Deborah is a Gestalt Therapist and Psychotherapist and specialises in working with couples who are faced with unexpected events or chronic issues affecting the quality of their relationship. She also works extensively with individuals who are dealing with anxiety, stress, workplace issues and relationship/family issues.
Specifically, Deborah assists couples to work through the rupture of their relationship, when one of them has had an affair. To help them address “unfinished business” and often long held resentments that impacts their feeling of safety and connection with their partner. Sometimes there has not been a crisis, just a slow disconnection from each other, and the realisation something is wrong, and they want to get back to what they used to have.
Deborah is also a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, accredited with the Federal Attorney Generals Department to work with separated parents as they negotiate their new co-parenting relationship and is authorised to issue Section 60i certificates.
As an accredited Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) Facilitator Deborah provides educational workshops for individuals, couples and small groups that provides evidence-based learning programs on attachment-based parenting.

My Therapeutic Approach.
Deborah works from a place of genuine interest and curiosity about each person she meets with. She is informed by a range of training including her decades of nursing and midwifery, Gestalt Therapy, Attachment and Polyvagal theories and her belief in equality & social justice.
She will support and validate you and your experiences and provide a trusting and safe environment so you are able to explore different and effective ways of being with yourself as well as significant people in your life. Deborah uses humour, stories, experiments and demonstrations to help you to gain the most from your sessions.
Deborah works at a pace that you determine and is respectful of your sensitivities and goals. At the same time she is willing to challenge fixed views and old beliefs that may be keeping you from moving to a position of acceptance, understanding or change.
Deborah is happy to work with clients via SKYPE as she recognises that attending in person is not always possible especially for FIFO clients.
Deborah has published a research paper internationally on issues related to women’s health.
