What services do you offer at Cottesloe Counselling Centre?

Cottesloe Counselling Centre offers individual counselling, couples therapy, family counselling, and child and adolescent psychology. Our experienced practitioners support clients with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, stress, and personal growth. We provide both in-person and telehealth appointments for clients across Perth and regional WA.

Who are the Counsellors and Psychologists at your centre?

Our team consists of registered Psychologists, Counsellors, and Psychotherapists with diverse experience in mental health and wellbeing. Each practitioner is professionally qualified and committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.

Do I need a referral to see a Counsellor or Psychologist?

No referral is needed. You can book an appointment directly with us—no GP referral is required unless you are accessing a Medicare rebate via a Mental Health Treatment Plan.

Can I get a Medicare rebate at Cottesloe Counselling Centre?

Yes, Medicare rebates are available for eligible clients under a Mental Health Treatment Plan. And practitioners are registered with Medicare and can offer rebates if you have a Mental Health-care treatment Plan from your GP.

Medicare Rebates are however only available when seeing a Medicare-registered practitioner, so please check with us at the time of booking.

Can I claim any rebates through my private health insurance?

Many private health funds offer rebates for psychological and counselling services. Please check with your provider to confirm your level of cover and whether your practitioner is recognised by your fund.

What can I expect in my first appointment?

Your initial appointment will focus on understanding your concerns, history, and goals. It’s a chance to discuss how counselling may support you and ta chance for you to decide whether the approach and practitioner are a good fit.

How long is a standard appointment?

Appointments are usually 50- 60 minutes.

What are your Counselling fees?

Fees vary depending on the practitioner and the type of service. Please contact us or visit our website for up-to-date fee information. Concession rates may be available in some cases.

Do you offer online Counselling or Telehealth appointments?

Yes, we offer secure online counselling for clients across Perth, Western Australia, and beyond. Telehealth is a convenient, flexible way to access professional support from the comfort of your own home.

Is there parking available at your Cottesloe Counselling Centre?

Yes. Limited onsite parking is available and can be arranged in advance with your therapist. Alternatively, free parking is available along the railway on Brixton Street and nearby streets. Cottesloe train station is also within walking distance.

What is your cancellation policy for counselling appointments?

We ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a cancellation fee.

Is Counselling confidential?

Yes. All information shared in your counselling appointment is treated confidentially, in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines. Exceptions apply only in cases involving risk of harm or legal obligation.
