Ilse holds a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy. She has experience in working with individuals and couples in the not-for profit, as well as the private sector.
Ilse is highly skilled in working with couples as well as individuals reflecting the diversity of Australian society, being well known for her expertise working with complex client presentations. Ilse believes in a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to health and works with a broad range of modalities. Her trauma focussed approach is people-centred and she uses an eclectic mix of therapies such as psychodynamic, systemic, emotional focussed therapy (EFT), EMDR as well as psychoeducation. Her polyvagal informed style focusses on utilising the body to emotionally regulate and sooth the autonomous nervous system.
Ilse’s respectful and empathic manner creates a safe and brave space in which she guides clients through their difficulties. Her gentle and compassionate nature restores hope and supports people in changing unhelpful beliefs and narratives, which often keep us stuck in the past. Ilse is passionate in supporting people to come to a place of self-compassion and acceptance of our true selves and create long lasting positive progress.
Ilse has experience in working alongside individuals and couples from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and heterosexual/same sex couples. Ilse specialises in supporting people with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, PTSD, childhood trauma’s, sexual assault, nightmares, anger, addictions, cult related issues.
Ilse provides face to face as well as Telehealth and has after hour appointments available.
